The chart above presents the number of transport usage by each type in 2004 and 2014. In 2004, the most popular type of transport was a car with the percentage at 75, other types of transport including “didn’t travel” option weren’t so popular, and their proportion ranged from 0.1 to 7.6 percent. Over ten years, car transport with the percentage at 65.5 remained as the most popular type, the proportion of other types of transport varied from 0.1 to 8.0 percent. Although, a closer look at the table reveals that the number of car usage decreased in favor of ‘’walk” and “bicycle” options. So, if car transport usage dropped by around 9 percentage points, the number of ‘’walk” and “bicycle” options increased for the same amount, from 3.9 to 8.0 and from 1.2 to 6.5 respectively. Over a decade we see that the car is still popular and most common type of transport. At the same, time the number of alternatives to car - ‘’walk” and “bicycle” increased with the falling number o...

Description of an acid rain formation process

In this process diagram you can find the illustration of how acid rain is originated. Acid rain forms when pollutants from anthropogenic and natural sources meet in the air. Then after chemical reaction with cloud water pollutants fall as acid rain. Let’s look at this process in detail. VOC, NOx produced by natural sources and SO2, VOC, Hg and NOx produced by human activities are released into the air. Then these compounds mixed with particulate or gaseous pollutants after participation in some chemical reactions can fall down as dry deposition, but when mixed with cloud water – as wet deposition – acid rain. As a result, receptors – plants, soil, water are damaged and undergone by the depositions. In conclusion, we see that the key element which creates acid rains is the SO2 from anthropogenic sources. It brings damages for receptors in nature not only in form of acid rain but also in form of dry deposition.

Type of student accomodation

The bar chart presented above illustrates students’ choices for accommodation between the 1970s and the 2010s. According to this chart, the proportion of accommodation types over the period wasn’t stable. In the 1970s there were two most popular options, and in the 2010s there was only one with a considerable predominance over other three. So, if in the 1970s, the most popular accommodation options with approximately 35% both were the sharing a house with other students and the playing guest with a host family majority, starting the 1980s the proportion of the sharing a house option began to increase and reached approximately 75% in the 2010s. At the same time, the host family option fell gradually and became the least popular option with approximately 5%. Proportions of the students hall of residence and the living with own family options fluctuated over five decades ranged from 10-20% and 5-15% respectively. In summary, students’ preferences changed over the five decade...

Being a high achiever

In response to questions from a task by the following link   https://vimbox.skyeng.ru/workbook/namuxavutu/4/materials?tool=homework I wrote a short essay. I want to work where there will be an opportunity to implement innovations because it inspires me. The ability to work in a team, vision, good communication skills are required qualities for this type of work. An appropriate person should be able to work in a team because it’s often teamwork, should have the vision to see the final result, should have good communication skills to be able to convince and communicate ideas. It seems to me, entrepreneurship and positive mindset would be useful as well. Of the qualities mentioned, I can point out in myself such qualities as the ability to work in a team, vision. It’s certainly those qualities can’t give me 100% guarantee to achieve my goals, but can increase the chances.

Career options and goals

I will maybe not be mistaken if I say that the most common career desire is to have a management position and it’s about me as well. However, it isn’t the most important goal for me. To have an interesting job which inspires me is the most important career goal for me. For instance, you can have a management position at some state institution, have a good salary, but you will hardly have creative work. For that reason, if we want to have a job satisfaction we must choose an appropriate professional field firstly and then set a goal to have a management position.
I've almost forgotten about writing in my blog. I must right this oversight. Today in the morning I spent time chaperoning my wife to the maternity hospital. My wife is in the forty-first week of pregnancy and she has been hospitalized for the survey. Actually, today I've been to the hospital twice, in the evening I took her some necessary things. Also, I've spent some time looking for a gift for her discharge from the hospital when she'll back home with our baby. I still can't realize that it will happen soon! About tomorrow plans. I'm going to finish the latest task of the finance course on Coursera and to do some English homework.
Today I'm going to tell about a problem with software which I had and what had to be done while searching for a solution to this problem. Two weeks ago, a special integrating software (IS) which I have been using stopped working, it just crashed at startup without error messages. IS integrates data from estimating software (ES) with construction schedules in project planning software (PPS), so it communicates with a server where PPS database is located. What haven't we tried? 1. On that day maintaining works on the server were planned, something happened while these maintaining works was the first hypothesis. So I asked the technical support (TS) what they had done on the server that day. 2. We tried to change my PPS account permissions on the recommendation of IS vendor, but it still didn't work. 3. Only when I tried to work on another computer with IS database imported from my computer it worked without any problems. That's how we realized that probl...
This day has started with the tragic news from Kemerovo, where 64 people have died in a fire. This tragic event coincided with the fire safety briefing for the part of some my colleagues and me and the fact that this misfortune was caused by serious breaches of the rules. So I paid a great deal of attention to the briefing. Take care of yourselves and your beloved ones! Also, I've done some tasks in the course on finance on Coursera which I haven't finished yet. I'm going to finish two weekly tasks this week. Then the other two will remain.
I've decided to put here the copy of a homework essay which I've written today. The homework task requires to choose one of the prompts and answer the questions in writing. I chose the first prompt "Now when so many people buy online, the shopping experience has been changed forever! What are some of the positive and negative aspects of this online shopping age? Do you enjoy online or in person shopping better? Is it worth the risk to be left empty-handed when you buy on the Internet?". The text below is the essay. Now more and more people buy online. Let’s find out what it brings. The main positive aspect is the convenience. Now we can buy almost everything and anywhere. Other positive aspects are a wider range of goods or services and lower prices. Furthermore, sometimes buying online is the only way to get something. The negative aspect of buying online is the risks of being left empty-handed or card details have been compromised. Another negative aspect is cha...
Yesterday I was tired so I didn't write down anything. Furthermore, I didn't have an idea what to tell about, except there was Spring Equinox yesterday. So let's move on to today events. Today I've spent most of my time on attempts to solve the technical problem with software which I use at my work. Unfortunately, it hasn't been solved yet. If I tell about after-work time I can say that I've found the website with materials for  Mindfulness Training  which I'm going to use. Tomorrow, as usual, I'm going to fulfill assignments at work and study English in a lesson after work.
Today I've done some tasks of homework on Skyeng. Before I go to sleep I'm going to read a book. The book is called "Give and Take: Why Helping Others Drives Our Success". It can sound funny but I've been reading this book for more than two months and I've just recently read the half of it. I certainly should do something with it. Tomorrow I'm going to do another part of tasks of the homework and there will be a lesson in the evening.
Today I've participated in the skiing competition. There was a short distance, about 2 kilometers. I haven't known what place I took yet because a judge said that he needed time to calculate the results and the results would be announced on Monday. The only thing I can say with confidence I didn't take any prize-winning place. Despite this fact, I don't regret anything and generally speaking I enjoyed it.
Everything was usual this weekend, so in other words, it's an ordinary Saturday. My day started when I woke up at 7:30 a.m., I had a light breakfast, watched the news, and managed to clean flat before lunchtime. After lunch, I went to work and came back home at 17:00 p.m. After dinner, I watched The Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban film. So now I can say I've seen it. Tomorrow is going to be interesting. Yesterday I was invited to go to participate in the skiing competition between employees of our company. So tomorrow I'm going to take part in the competition.
This day isn't going to be different from yesterday. As usual, there will be regular tasks at work which I have to fulfill. Also, I'm going to work with the construction schedule. Probably in next notes, I will describe what particularly I'm doing with this schedule. Also, today a lesson on Skyeng is scheduled which we canceled yesterday.
Yesterday I set up this blog because I suggested it will be more convenient to correct, update and comment notes. Today I’m going to achieve regular tasks at work. Most likely starting today, I will continue working with the construction schedule, which I stopped doing temporarily while preparing the presentation papers for the conference. Also, there will be the lesson on Skyeng. UPD: Today I've eliminated the backlog of emails at work while fulfilling tasks, started working with the schedule. Also, I've fixed the grammatical errors.
It’s the first record. Here's what I was thinking. If I write every day it will be my blog. So, the best place for daily notes will be on some free blog-platform. So today I’m going to find the platform and set up my own blog.
